\u201cSex Education\u201d<\/em> has become an inseparable topic of discussion in the current world. We would like to list out a few \u201cmyths and facts\u201d about our perception of this topic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

“Girls are abused more than boys”: Myth:<\/em><\/strong> This is in fact a myth people carry out. The study shows that Boys are more abused than girls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Abuse happens outside the house”:<\/strong>  Myth:<\/em> This is our assumption. Most of the abuse happens with a known person, relative, a friend who is well known to the family.  It is always necessary that children need to share any kind of abuse with the parent. If the \u201cSecret\u201d is kept secret, the abuser gets reinforced and might repeat such acts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Good Touch and Bad Touch:<\/strong>  As far as our other senses are concerned, we can localize it as body parts such as eyes, ear, and nose. When it comes to touch, it is not possible to localize. It can be any part of our body. A Good Touch or Bad Touch needs to be identified with the feeling.  A child can make it out easily in most of the situations. We need to EMPOWER our children to be bold to raise their voice to call out \u201cPlease I don\u2019t like\u2026\u201d. “NO..”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My child doesn\u2019t know anything about Sex:<\/strong> As a human being from the time of birth sex education starts and in an indirect way. It is absolutely a myth that my child doesn\u2019t know anything about sex.  Sometimes they get the wrong information from their friends and the internet which creates curiosity.  In such a situation, children tend to learn unwanted things and tend to do an inappropriate act. It is our duty to provide information appropriate to their age and be open while talking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

EMPOWER AND COMMUNICATE WITH YOUR CHILD TO STOP ABUSE.<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
